The Ahousaht First Nation has the largest population of all Nuučaan̓uɫ First Nations and their main village is at Maaqtisiis (Marktosis)[[Wikipedia Marktosis entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marktosis%2C_British_Columbia]] on Flores Island on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Ahousaht traditional territory encompasses Flores Island and areas in and around Clayoquot Sound as well as neighbouring valleys and mountains.
