The Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nations is the union of the Mowachaht and Muchalaht First Nations who joined to form one group in 1935[[133]]. The main community is now at Gold River but the largest Mowachaht village was formerly at Yuquot in Nootka Sound (Friendly Cove).
